Short, fast and loud - just what suits me for the past couple weeks. And for the past couple days i've been listening that kind of band. Coke Bust is a DC hardcore band. Formed in 2006 and since than had a bunch of tours. In download section you'll also see a bunch of record issues. My favorites are Lines in the sand LP and latest Degradation EP. From record to record they've gotten faster, tighter, louder and how I've heard and been able to see on youtube they kick ass at live shows. You lucky ones don't miss them in your town. Canadians seems to amaze every time. So did that a relatively new band called - Slobs. If this means anything to you, some members are from Montreal based hardcore band Omegas and besides that Omegas vocal Hoagie Skank is their number one fan, so they say. Slobs discography consists of their Demo from 2009 (reissued on 7'' and along with T-shirts available here) and their latest EP "Look busy, do nothing" on Cowabunga Records. Girl from Poland contact me today and told me to check out band called Boston Strangler consisted of members from Social Cirkle, Mind Eraser and Rival Mob. First track Outcast blew me away instantly. Bands like Impact Unit and Last Rights popped into my head. Hell yeah, cause this band continues what bands like Negative FX, Deathwish and DYS was trying to tell us. It's been a long time since some band caught my attention like this one did. Let this 5 raging and straight to the point tracks do the same to you. Get back to the Boston roots.

I Exist are seven Aussies playing sludge hardcore and are probably the best band i've heard of that genre and that's not a EXAGGERATION. I Exist discography contains an LP I: A turn for the worse from 2010 and Bad romance split w/Phatoms from this year. LP is a pure gem. Well 2011. started and I finaly found the time to post some new stuff. And they are verbatim new, released this year. I'm talking about Low Threat Profile, a band called powerviolence dream team one because of creme de la creme members, Math from Infest, Andy from No Comment and Bob of Lack of Interest. Can it be any better? Guys first stunned us with their first release in 2009, The Product #1 7'' with short and blazing 11 tracks. Just listen my favorite one [The Product] This year was time for The Product #2 in LP attire. Killer ones are Cross my heart and [Back to basics] On their myspace you can read that The product #3 was recorded this summer and going to be out by 2020. Definitely looking forward to it. Anyway for Infest and etc. fans i'm sure you already put this for download, others do the same cause you need this band to smash your bedroom walls.:)

I always adress this band as one of my favorite Croatian ones and they sure confirmed it with the new album. '80s American hardcore on Croatian way. Guess my posting mode is on higher level today cause i'm bringing one more band. I was planing to put them months ago, today I listened them after long time and thought well it's about time to introduce them to you. Hailing from Richmond,Virginia listen what Maximum Rock'n'roll says about these guys: "It makes Adolescents sound like Good Riddance, makes Minor Threat sound like Fugazi. This isn't 80's hardcore revival it's 80's hardcore removal..." Haha harsh harsh, but I think when you listen them you'll see this "review" contains more truth than a lie. Almost every review I read about these guys were full of praises. With no doubt they define 00's hardcore. Give them a shot!

I remember when I first heard Pisschrist, it was their Victims of faith LP and I wasn't so psyched about it, other words I disliked it. And now my opinion is that it's their worst release. Thank God I gave them a second chance and listened their other releases. Nothing has changed LP is a pure gem packed with their split w/Framtid. Now they are probably one of my favorite Aussie hardcore bands. Unfortunately they fell apart last year. Too bad i'm not going to see live my favorites (and so do you:) : [Hellfare Wellfare] [Apartheid] [Nothing has changed][Run][Extinction]. Fucking ace! Along with DC, Boston is definitely my favorite US hardcore scene. Today's Boston bands try to keep the '80s hardcore spirit which can be seen in band Cut The Shit which i'm presenting to you now. They have risen from bands like - Tear it up (previous post), The Pinkerton Thugs,Bones Brigade..etc. Guilty and charge for amount of five trashy pieces full of pure hardcore explosion.Most of the songs not cross 2 minutes and going straitgh to the head. After they last LP from 2009 Total Rebellion spin our minds(which you can find in my past post with rest of their discography) this crazy guys treat us with 2010 LP recording named "Blown 2 Completion". Each time I listened them word fun goes through my mind. Mark Black calls them "One of the country's best and funniest punk bands" Word. Agreed. I listened their new album like 6 times and already got my favorite one's "Summertime Coffee" which is to me like a Big Black/Black Flag mixture, they definitely put some noise in. Funny one "Too many tatoos", and "Bad Choice"."Take breaks" is a great intro to the album. When I first heard the album it was like I already heard it before, then it come to me "You fool, they just kept their old hardcore'n'roll sound!?". In my case that's good, and in your? Well you gotta check it, don't you? Enjoy!

I'm talking about hardcore/crust/trash/punk band State Of Fear hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Formed from the ashes of well known crusties Disrupt they lasted from 1994 to 2001. Framtid or (Swedish word for future) represent hardcore band from Osaka, Japan. I've never been good with labeling, so if it's the d-beat or crust or some sort of variation I don't care,i just like to put it in simple, other words - hardcore. Maybe you are already familiar with this band,Black Flag worshipers with '70s hard rock mixture. Would you call it hardcore'n'roll, don't know, but i'm sure if you are into in that sort of music you'll be hooked. This guys formed in 2001 and so far recorded three Lp's,2 EP's and put out one discography album. Unfortunately 2009 was their split year. Can't get enough of this fuckers last couple days. Three guys played together since 7th grade and finally formed Siege in 1981 with Massachusetts,USA as their hometown. They were definitely extreme and delivered new standards, also setting the stage for emerging grindcore scene. First Siege tape was recorded in Radiobeat Studios in 1984 under the name Drop Dead. Guys were active from 1983 to 1985 and reunited briefly in 1990. Last release came out in 1998 which contains all the tracks from the Drop Dead tape, split with Deep Wound and Cleanse the Bacteria compilation tracks. Interesting fact is that they were big influence on well known grindcore bands Napalm Death and Dropdead. My fav tracks [Drop dead] [Walls]. I don't think there's any Finnish hardcore bands in previous posts so it's time to post some. Definitely one of my favorite ones - Bastards. Line up consisted of guys who also played in bands such as Kaaos, Protesti and Riistetyt. Band formed in 1980 in Tampere city. Original line up did only first 7'' Maailma Palaa Ja Kuolee (1982) which means World Burns To Death and that song name features their LP and also my best release Siberian Hardcore (1984). "World Burns To Death" goes in my top 10 Finnish songs. Just listen ♥ [youtube] From second release Jarjeton Maailma (Insane World) LP to Siberian Hardcore only vocal changed. Instead of Sid now Lahti was "in charge" and did a great job. In download section you can also find tracks from well known compilation "Russia bombs Finland" aka Propaganda LP that was sort of a Finnish hardcore introduction to the world.Enjoy!

There are probably far too many "disgusting" bands, but the one i'm presenting today is definitely worth listening. I'm talking 'bout Holland's trashing hardcore punk band - Disgust. First i've got in touch with was their in my opinion best release "The Last Blast" EP (1985) [youtube] There are 2 reasons why this EP is called "The last blast" First one - band states that "Punk is almost dead, the flame is just a flicker." The second one was the fact that it was truly Disgust's last blast cause after this EP they splitted up. In download section you can also find their second demo tape - "Trash back tape" (1985). Whole discography can be find on their reunion record "Flashback to Trash back" released in 2006 on Noise and Distortion Records. Be sure to check their myspace with some awesome photo material. Raw Power

This is going to be a jubilee 100th post. I've decided that we visit a comune Poviglio in Italy and one of my favorite Italian hardcore bands - insane Raw Power. Brothers Mauro and Giuseppe Codeluppi formed the band in 1981. Their first LP release and withal definitely my favorite was "You are the victim" (1983) which sadly was released 18 years later because band wasn't satisfied with "lousy" production and that's why that release became ultra-rare collectors item. Comparing the "Screams from the gutter" LP (1984) which visibly is made in way better production, in my opinion there's no rawness as it's on the first release. But one thing i like as hell is second caterwauling vocalist Silvio.If good production is important to you you'll definitely like mentioned release. Besides that two LP's there is also one EP "Wop Hour" which is probably their last release i really like. The last one i've heard was "After your brain" LP (1986) which is in principle good even though they changed style a bit. To be honest rest of the discography i didn't listened so i can't say anything 'bout that. If you really get into them visit their Discogs profile to see what else they released. Burning Love is without a doubt one of the best bands came out of Canadian hardcore scene for the past 10 years. What to say about their new LP "Songs for burning lovers"? . Nothin' much than saying a fact - it's pure gem. Maybe a tiny minus are the old stuff that in my opinion are more raw on the demo. However, I'm stunned with the new ones. Every song clicks. I just love when "Destroyer of the Worlds" [live] wake me up in the morning or that few seconds that need to pass for me to hear the beginning before answering a call. It's catharsis maan! It's been long since our last post. Sorry about that. So let's get busy.

This guys should be in everyone's music library. Period.Creating the first wave of hardcore punk, they started in 1978 in Los Angeles and the guilty ones were Metal Mike Saunders and his brother Kevin Eric Saunders. They had controversial start with song "Get Off The Air" about Rodney Bingenheimer (KROQ DJ) that featured their first release "Inside My Brain" (1980) and was even black-listed. After that it followed a pseudonym release EP under the "new band name" Queer Pills in 1981. Guys gOt back to Angry Samoans and released the last hardcore punk record "Back From Samoa" in 1982 with themes such as - poking your eyes out and ranking your old man. After that guys continued in garage rock way and that could be seen in their later albums. Band is now reformed and kicking. It's still raining as hell here in Croatia. Good weather for massive studying? Huh! Other than that i'm in good mood cause this guys just made my day. Listening to Deathwish i found out for a "Break the chains" cover (with little modification) by Dumbstruck. Fast hardcore punk from UK and neither more nor less with ex members of Heresy, Ripcord and Cracked Cop Skulls. Good enough for me. Besides Deathwish cover the 4th track is cover also - Pure Hate by Poison Idea. Well done job. For me best track - definitely "Hate your kind''.

I think (no i'm sure) this band's been on top of my 2009 list. Most of you probably already heard their awesome "Demo tape". To me it sounds like a soundtrack for some old horror movie. Their intro is like the best I've heard. Just perfect blend wih second track "Lives of the saints". Before you listen the whole demo check this opening sequence for "Blast of silence" (1961) movie and then of course begin with intro. You'll find some similarities. Now little about these guys. Coming from Toronto,Canada, on vocals there's well known Chris-i'm-in-one-million-bands-Colohan who's just burning that "love". The minute they showed up they become "a happy hunting ground''. Few days ago they released "Don't ever Change 7''. I'll listened it already a hundred times on their myspace where you can also find some additional tracks that will appear on LP ( which is going to be released after they start touring at the end of this month, check the dates here) Be sure to check Miserable Sound on their space which is total blast off! Boston? Jerry's Kids? Is this my world? Tear it Up? It's known that this guys took the name from this amazing song. However that's not all that they took/borrowed. If someone didn't tell me that these guys were "born" in the '00s I would ask from which '80s hardcore scene they belong. Yes they're that good, and perfect material for people who worships the good 'ol '80s. Tear it up rose in 2000, from the ex-members of Dead Nation. This crazy New Jersey's play fast hardcore punk and they're trashing to the maximum level. They toured USA and Europe and when they didn't they played like 4 shows a week everywhere near New Jersey. Unfortunately they no longer exist since 2003. However you shouldn't by pass them. Like their "indigenous" Black Flag they liked to "play anywhere anytime and would love it even the show wasn't so great" [interview with drummer Math where you can find out more interesting stuff 'bout them]. My personal favorites are "Taking you down with me" LP (released just a bit later then they broke up) and "Nothing to nothing" LP. They even have a couple of amazing instrumental stuff, my favorites - "Intermission" and "Taking you down with me". Anyways, you ready for tearing down your room walls? Get down to download section cause these guys will convince you to "shred everything on your way" and that's sure is a good thing!

Don't be afraid of bands name, it won't harm, you'll just very much enjoy it. The band is Hjertestop (eng. Cardiac Arrest). In my opinion band is best to describe as sped-up-garage hardcore. Guys sing on Danish and English, first Yogi was on vocals, but now Lass Ballade took over. Not going to brag you with discography stuff just take a peek on download section. So far guys released three recordings - "Demo" in 2006 and two EP's that came out on NWR, "Bleak Reality" and "Solitary Confinement". First I grab my hands on was the last "Solitary Confinement". Among them is this great "little" hardcore band who take their influences from Black Flag, Adolescents, Circle Jerks, Necros etc. The band is titled - Terminal State. I wrote on this bands last.fm page that Canadians keep surprising me on and on. Total truth. Found about them through Chris Colohan's blogspot page.(thank you;D) Anyways here's something about this guys - Brazen Hell is coming from Sheerbroke, Quebec. I'm not sure when they started, however, first demo came out in 2008. One year later they recorded an awesome ST 7''. I'm not a big fan of hardcore/heavy metal mixture but of course there's some bands that I adore and among them is Final Warning from Portland. These guys could be called one of the first who actually break down the wall between punk and metal. Interesting fact are members - past and future Poison Idea members Glenn Estes and Charlie Nims. With them and Jeff and Tim Paul - made the most known line-up.Guys lasted 4 years, from 1982 to 1986. Pig Champions label "Fatal Erection" released their ST EP in 1984. Mind-blowing release with my favorite "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind" - great track to start the record I might say. In download section you can also find their track "I Quit" with which they featured awesome compilation EP "Drinking Is Great" with Poison Idea, Lockjaw and E 13. Listening to the awesome, but unfortunately deceased FxPxOx on YouTube I remembered I have their current new band. Absolutely love the demo from 2008. I'm talking about hardcore punk band SmartXBomb from Skopje,Macedonia. As you can conclude members are from ex-FxPxOx. I don't know if this band still exists cause their myspace page is deleted and their's no any new information 'bout them on the internet. Hm,weird..so if someone knows anything please share it. One that I managed to find out is that they should release a split 7'' with Positive Noise (in January 2009) but it was never put out. Besides that I suggest you to download this 4 kick ass tracks and simply enjoy!

It's one more "Crucial Attack" band and definitely "my new favorite one". This routine is hell are 4 Dutchmen's playing fast and furious hardcore/trash since 2006. Here's what they say about themselves in one sentence- "Frustrated by the drag and the fakeness of the world around them they scream from the heart and mean every god damn word that they say." I don't know why I haven't listened them sooner but what a heck I'll make up for it. So try them and there's one rule - turn your speakers to the maximum level to make your ears bleed cause this guys are fuckin' rampage!

Like I said in last post here's another "Crucial Attack" band. This Belgium trashers play fast hardcore punk like Verbal Abuse,Negative Approach and Suicidal Tendencies did in the eighties. They released a demo and ST EP on Not Just Words Records. In 2008 it was time for an LP "Fever" which is faster and with more crazy guitar riffs, released on Crucial Attack Records and Crash Landing Records. Unfortunately Damaged Goods doesn't exist anymore but that doesn't mean you need to be left dropped for this record full of friction that will drive you insane. Last two tracks "Alles Kapot" and "Final Curtain" who are definitely my favorites is driving me insane whole morning.Haha. Anyways enjoy! P.S. Thanks to jawel_rust for sharing this.

Cornered formed last year they released a "Demo 7''" (Crucial Attack Records) containing 5 rough hardcore tracks. I got stoked right away and can't wait for their announced "Too Many Fools" LP. It was not my plan to post NYHC bands in a row, i guess it's just a coincidence. I've been listening these guys today and thought "I've got to post it". The Abused vocal destroys everything on it's way, and that's sure a good thing. Formed in early '80s they released a demo in 1982 and 7'' titled "Loud And Clear". Furious and definitely sticking out.My favorites are "War Games" and absolute classic "Drug Free Youth". Fun fact is a rumor that guys stole a van with Minor Threat tape in tape-deck, listened it and decided to put up a band. Haha. Anyways get busy with their second release "Loud And Clear" 7''.

Here's NY band formed around 1987 who take their influences from early '80s bands such as Reagan Youth and Agnostic Front. In some kind of way they remind me of Iron Cross mainly because of the vocal. Guys sang about everything wrong about NY scene at the time. My favorites are "Never Make A Change" and "Youth Enrage". After they broke up Adam Nathanson,Sam McPheeters and Neil Burke formed Born Against. In download section I put their "Defiance 7'' from 1991. Enjoy!

First i'd like to thank kktz for this recommendation. Got hooked instantly. This post is about The Comes from Tokyo, one of the first Japanese hardcore punk bands. The band first appeared on the Outsider compilation in 1982 with GISM, Gauze and Laughin Nose. Girl vocal certainly gives some unique touch. Very impressive. I totally agree with the fact that "they combine hell-shriek vocals, massive hooks and the stop-start hardcore of Minor Threat, but with a spastic, screeching energy unlike anything in US." Today i'm giving you their first piece "No Side" 12'' from 1984. Nothing else to say then total awesomeness. If you into japcore this is just perfect for you. Some of the members later formed Lip Cream.

In 1584 Balthasar Gerards Kommando assassinated the king of Netherlands. In early '80s five guys formed the band called after Balthasar or in initials B.G.K. right after punk band Nitwitz stopped it's existence. Known for it's leftist political stance,they put up DIY shows with low door prices, affordable record prices on their label Vogelspin, played benefits and helped run Emma squat in Netherlands. They released three records on their own label. I'm giving to you first two records that's in my opinion their best releases. In 1983 "Jonestown Aloha" LP came out."Pray For Peace and Kill For Christ" is such a good start. "Arms Race" is an absolute classic. You can see they are "american hardcore scene" alike and it was known they despise popular trend of British Oi bands impersonation. They even showed that on their song "Follow The Trend" featured on their second release "White Male Dumbinance" EP that's with no doubt my favorite. All tracks have that unique spark. I just love it. They collaborated with two US labels R.Radical and Alternative Tentacles. The second one released complete B.G.K. discography in 1999 called "A Dutch Feast". They called it's quits in 1987.

No this is not a Dutch Antidote, these guys existed much before. I'm talking about an early NYHC band who released one of best hardcore EP's "Thou Shalt Not Kill" self-released in 1983. Every track blow your head.My favorites are "Real Deal" and "Something Must Be Done". A little trivia: drummer Arthur played with Misfits and John Bloodcolt (Cro-Mags vocal) did back-ups on "Real Deal". When they get back in late '80s, early '90s they put a LP "Return To Burn", i listened that LP but when you compare it with EP it's, yeah too bad to say, junk. Anyways those who heard of them this is sth to remind you and you who haven't heard them yet - what the hell ur you waiting for!?

Hah.Here's "one more youth". I've been listening these guys for the past 5 days and I'm stunned.Bored Youth is one of those wrongly underrated bands, and they definitely deserve attention. Band was formed by 4 suburban kids of West Bloomfield, Michigan. Rob Michaels, who is now a lawyer in Chicago was guilty for the vocal job. The drummer was Fred Ingam.There were also two brothers John and Robert Katz, Robert unfortunately committed suicide in his first year of college. Demo tape was released in 1981. In 1990 "Lost & Found" released and EP "Touch & Go" containing demo tracks. They also featured the compilation "I Estimated Your Worth Today" tape along with Violent Apathy,Fate Unknown, Negative Approach,Crucifucks,The Fix and The Allied. "They Don't Have The Right" and "Outcast" tracks are real gem so check it out.

This band was requested like 1-2 months ago and i'm finally putting them. So here you go D. P. Reagan Youth definitely had interesting start. Their roots begun since high school days when David Rubinstein formed the band with guitarist Paul Bakija.Band played in clubs of Manhattan, interesting fact is that David's science teacher became a band roadie and nearly got fired. Haha, that could only happen those days. They released LP "Youth Anthems For The New Order" in 1984. and signed contract on the back of the poster for a gig. Sold over 40,000 copies. The name Reagan Youth was ironic (i think we'll all heard of Hitler Youth), giving David's family background as holocaust survivors. So, you can conclude they were very political. By the late 80s, after years of touring and drug abuse they disbanded. Ronald Regan's departure from the White House was also one of the reasons. It's sad how Dave ended. His girl who was a prostitute was brutally murdered by Long Island's most famous serial killer Joel Rifkin. One month later Dave Insurgent committed suicide. Agent Orange refers to the code name of a powerful herbicide and defoliant used by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In music, there's like 5 bands with that name. I'm a fan of two of them, but today's post is about Dutch hardcore-thrashers hailing from Amsterdam. They were first known as "Jezus and the Gospelfuckers", later known as "Genocide Express" when they recorded songs for "Pusmort compilation". As Agent Orange they recorded two kick ass EPs. "Your Mother Sucks Cocks In Hell" in 1983 with my favorites "Nothing" and "Lingerie". Next year followed second and final EP "VD- Hello Boyfriend, Coming My Way" recorded in France. My favorites are controversial "KKK" and the final anti-coppers anthem "Kill The Police". You don't want to get pass this cause you'll surely get one of the Dutch best.

Extorts were a Georgetown band formed in high school days featuring Lyle Presler on vocals,Micheal Hampton on guitar, Wendel Blow on bass and Simon Jacobson on drums. This demo i'm giving to you is rare and copies of this tape were distributed among friends in early DC scene. Lousy quality but what the heck. Anyways this demo is called "Oh My God It's The Extorts" and have been recorded in early 1980. Two tracks remain unnamed and if someone has any idea what are the titles please post it in a comment. However,the last track you would probably recognize without title cause it's "Stepping Stone" later Minor Threat song.

When Lyle Presler joined the Minor Threat the other three formed State Of Alert with Henry Rollins. SOA was also short lasting band formed in October 1980 and disbanded in July 1981. They released "No Policy" 7'' with 10 songs in 1981, the record was financed by Henry cause Dischord spent all there money on first Minor Threat 7''. They also featured famous "Flex Your Head" compilation. Guys surely brought new aggression to the music. My absolute favorites are "Blackout" and "Public Defender". Their last show in 1981 was when they opened for Black Flag. Later that year Henry joined Black Flag. The rest is history.

We're still in Texas and now is time for very overlooked band Offenders. Hyper-energetic, passionate playing with such energy you get to think they were on verge of falling apart. All the members took the surname "Offender". In download section you can find two 7''ches "Lost Cause/Rockin The Town" and "I Hate Myself". "I Hate Myself" is definitely one of my favorite tracks with brutal guitar sound. "We Must Rebel" LP was released in 1983 and two years later came along "Endless Struggle" with kick ass anthem "Face Down In Dirt". In 2002 guys did a reunion show in Texas (at the top is flyer from that show). Sad news came in September 2007 when Mikey Offender suddenly died in his sleep in Barcelona. He was very notable for his impressive bass skills not just in Offenders, also in MDC and D.R.I.

A legacy of classic recordings counts 2 EP's, 2 singles and 2 LP's all released by their own label C.I.A. Records. Thrived on DIY ethics they helped the local scene to explode. In their own words they were committed to freedom of expression, political statement,some misguided opinions and a lot of volatility. I've been listening a lot of Italian hardcore these days and in future will probably be posting some. The first one to introduce to you guys is Blue Vomit. Got caught at first listening. Coming from Torino they recorded two demos and featured an awesome compilation "Disforia". In download section I uploaded their mind blowing demo from 1983. Songs are driven with extreme expression of irony and nihilism. Three simple words to describe them raw, dirty and catchy. They lasted 5 years from 1978 to 1983. Singer Luca Abort later formed Nerorgasmo. He died with needle in his veins. Download and see that Italian hardcore scene had (has) a lot to offer.

No! This post is not about Central Intelligence Agency, it's about Connecticut hardcore punk band formed in early '80s. This guys treat us with two recordings and they also featured in bunch of compilations. In 1983 they released in my opinion their best stuff, "God,Guts,Guns" EP. They got me instantly with one of the best intro's I've heard and in only 7 seconds - "Who Cares?". ST LP was released by Incas Records in 1984. C.I.A is highly recommended to 76%Uncertain fans cause that's what they formed when "C.I.A. Era" ended. P.S. Thanks to D. for showing me this "juicy fruitcake".

Following band is probably one of my best Belgium ones. This guys are influenced by '80s hardcore in vein of Negative Approach, Minor Threat and Antidote. Mmm, yummy! I'm not sure 100% but i think the name of the band is after Negative Approach song "Dead Stop". Started in 2002 they've done shows across Europe and USA. Dead Stop factory produced one ST 7'' in 2002, and two LP's - "Done with you" in 2004 and "Live for nothing" released in 2005. My absolute favorites are "Kick my ass", "State of waste" and "Locked inside". Unfortunately you can hear them just over your headphones and speakers cause on May 6th,2006 they done last show in Lintfabriek. Too bad, but of course that's not the reason to get pass them. If you haven't tried some Belgium hardcore I think Dead Stop is good opportunity to get started with.

Spain is located in Southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula. Spanish city Zaragoza is a hometown of today's band - Insomnio. Unfortunately the band split about 1 and a half year go. But to cut the bad stuff lets introduce this guys (and a girl, yeah girl is slamming on the bass). On their last.fm profile you can read they play punk in a vein of Adolescents but there's also a bit of Dead Boys and The Stooges. I agree and i'd have to say it's a great mix indeed. By the time they split they put out three recordings. In 2007 No Escape LP with my favorites "She says no" and "Too hard". 2008. gave birth to two records - one 7'' "Walking on the string" and awesome LP "Happy Loneliness". Slam it! And be sure to check their version of "Over the edge" by "Wipers" on myspace.

This is probably one of the first hardcore punk band i've heard. I was all psyched about their first LP "Estimated Monkey Time". I remember it past a long time since i've grab the other two recordings. Guys formed the band in 1983. I'd have to say that Bones on vocal remind me a lot on H.R. from Bad Brains and some of their songs ass well on Bad Brains work. Not a bad thing for sure. 1986 year brought the release "Nothing But Love Songs" with one of my favorites "I Hate The Radio". In 1989 was released their third album "Hunka Hunka Burnin'". Shortly after Mike the guitar left the band their longtime friend Jeff took the place.After a lot of shows they split up before '80s ended. Then it followed a sad sad reunion. Jeff died in car accident and left behind his wife and three kids so the band decided to reform and play some benefit concerts to collect money. They repeat that in 2002 and from then on they're still kicking, ready for recording some new material and doing shows. So you guys who get to see them consider yourselves lucky. By that time download their stuff and simply enjoy!

Deathwish got together in late 1983 and recorded a demo in December same year at Radiobeat. Dicky Brown is a lead singer of long lasting ska-core band "The Mighty Mighty Bosstones". But now i'm presenting to you his first band Impact Unit which was part of original XClaim "Boston crew" in the early eighties. Lasted only one year from 1982 to 1983. They put out a demo tape in 1982 which was reissued in 1989 under the title "My friend the pit 7''. Awesome record. And back to Boston again. This time lead role goes to definitely underrated band Groinoids. These guys featured two very known Boston compilations "This is Boston not LA" with "Angel" track and "Unsafe at Any Speed" with "Empty Skull" track. You probably know these two recordings but today i'm offering their other stuff. A total of 5 tracks makes the "Radio Sessions" EP issued in 2008 (recorded in 1982). This is considered their whole discography. Yeah,too bad. But than again at least something to enjoy, which you probably will. Love how they end it with "Billion Vampires". Don't be scared to bite it!

I think this is the first post of this genre. Iron Cross can definitely be labeled as one of the first USA bands that adopted skinhead look and Oi! music style. This hardcore/oi band was formed by Sab Grey in Washington, DC, who always emphasized "...oh, we're not Nazis!"

For you who are not "followers" of anything Oi! labeled don't be miscourged cause this guys maybe had an English Oi style, they certainly radiated with DC hardcore that we'll all used to. Band treat us with 2 EP's . The first one and also my favorite "Skinhead Glory" from 1982 is pure classic. They couldn't pick better start than the track "Crucified for your sins". Interesting fact is that this song is covered by numerous bands like Agnostic Front,The Business etc. Next year it was time for second EP "Hated And Proud". Awesome record with killer tracks "You're Rebel" and "Wolfpack". I won't haze you anymore so download this stuff and prepare your ears for some intense hardcore. If you get to like it maybe you'll have a chance to see them live cause the band still exist, yeah with changed line-up but the founder still spreads the word.

Want some Balkan band? Of course you do! This following one sure has a long history. Started in 1994 they survived a lot of band member changes and also music genres. During the '90s they even split up and played in other bands, but 2008 was their comeback year. It's important to say they are on of the first Croatian bands with crusty punk sound. On the piece i'm offering to you it's obvious they are influenced by ex-Yugoslavian hardcore/punk/trash bands of the '80s. They did a great job covering U.B.R. and Ženevski Dekret. Too bad I haven't seen them live yet even though their hometown Požega where they usually spread their "ear-bleeding-noise" is near by. Thanks to Nonsense vocal kktz for uploading this. You Poppers start downloading and feel the real life at Balkans!

The Fix were 4 guys from Detroit and considered one of the first Midwest hardcore bands. If you ask me vocal Steve Miller remind me of Darby Crash. Especially on "Vengeance" track. However, his singing is more comprehensible and clearer, but he also sounds like his spitting out teeth between verses. Craig Calvert gives us smashing guitar sounds. Other associates are Mike Achtenburg on bass and Jeff Wellman on drums. In 1980 they treat us with their ( in my opinion) best stuff. "Vengeance 7'' can definitely be labeled with pure classic. They second EP "Jan's Rooms" from 1982 was also released on "Touch And Go Records". Even though they lasted a really short time they can definitely sit beside "greater" hardcore bands. Check it out right now so you don't stay withhold.

The 2010 begun and it's time for a new year post, who'd better then some Boston punkers. As it for New York, LA and San Francisco, Boston didn't enjoy that much publicity. Modern Method Records tried to spread the word with obscure compilation that you (must) know "This Is Boston, not LA". I already "solve" Jerry's Kids and The Fu's from the compilation. Now it's time for The Proletariat. This band is definitely not a standard Boston hardcore band. Their style is recoiling from the others. Inspirited with British punk like Sex Pistols and Gang Of Four they were politically/Marxist driven. Their three tracks from the compilation speak about career choices, organized religion and indoctrination. I personally love all their work. Art-punk work "Soma Holiday" LP is distinguished with anthems that tackle a variety of social issues."Marketplace" 7'' is a pure classic. And the "Indifference" LP will sweep you with interesting melodies to the song, especially track "An Uneasy Peace" where Roger Miller from Mission Of Burma plays the piano. This Massachusetts guys just tried to play their music for themselves and if they managed to persuade public with their believes it was just a plus. So download and get to know this very distinct band.

I think is more then necessary to put this bands into same post. They're not just connected with split album, they are connected with vocalist Jack Kelly known as Chunk who's behind all of this.

Btw. glad to see we're coming back to Boston scene.

So let's start. Negative FX is known as Choke's first band formed in 1981. This band definitely push the boundaries of hardcore punk even though they lasted only a short time and played like six shows. As a incredibly fast, furious,hectic band with Choke's insoluble singing guys were base for future grindcore and power violence bands. Their first record was ST LP released in 1984 by "Taang Records!" Their most intense show was the last one when they open for "Mission Of Burma" when the crowd beat up the soundman cause he tried to pull the plug on Negative FX. I guess he deserved it. Interesting fact is that Eric Melvin listened to their studio tracks and when he tried to make up a name for his band (with Fat Mike) he named it NOFX.

After band split Chunk formed short-living band "Last Rights". Definitely opposite than Negative FX cause you can actually understand the lyrics. However a great band with classic song "Chunks".My fav. Band lasted only one show, but they put out a 2 track 7'' in 1984. Other recordings showed up on split album with Negative FX released on "Taang Records" in 1996.

With no doubt must have record. So sought it! You won't be sorry!

Here's one of my fav bands. What makes this guys special is definitely their songwriting and three guitar attack. I just love how they mix funk, jazz and trash which is specially shown on their "Give Thanks" LP from 1984. First EP "What We Want Is Free" from 1982 is simply withous flaws. Every track hits you. Vic Bondi's jarring and discordant singing continued on their second EP "Wait" from 1983. It was released on their own label "Wasteland" and on Paul Mahern's from Zero Boys - "Affirmation". It's a fact that band members didn't want to categorize themselves. Real muscle music, hard as fast as possible, funk, jazz, reggae...they want to chew it all. Their last album "In This Life" LP from 1985 definitely is different from the rest. Maybe you won't like it but I really enjoy in their melancholic, more melodic songs that in my opinion could easily get a label of post-hardcore or at least the roots of it. Articles of Faith was and still is very influential and I think they deserve your intension. So give a feel for them.

I have two words for you "K-Town Hardcore". For the D-scene lovers this band's just perfect. Got as recommendation last week and I was stunned at first listen. Formed under the name Virgin Suicides they started demolish Denmark with their sound in 2004. After their playing on/off their changed the name in Leathervein. In my opinion it definitely sounds better,tighter. Their influences can be visibly heard.So if you're a fan of "AC/DC-Motörhead-Black Sabbath-Zeke" packed with hardcore juice this is just what you've been waiting for. They released a ST LP in March this year and that's what I'm offering you to download. Recc- definitely pay attention on "Endless Night" track with awesome female back-vocal. Try them and you'll probably be asking for more K-town bands.

It's time for a band from my homeland, Croatia. When you read their name, you'll get it. Tutta Forza or in English "full speed". They definitely justify it. With two slamming vocals these guys lasted only like a year, done about 10 shows and sealed themselves in Croatian hardcore punk scene. Songs are bilingual so you'll be able to understand parts of it.I just love tracks "Grube Ruke" [youtube] and "Chicken Brain". Ex Tutta Forza is now Nulla Osta that's still active. Hailing from Sacramento this guys are perfect example of California 80's hardcore sound.

Lasted from 1981 to 1983 they released ST 7'' and featured in 4 compilation albums.

If you get more in touch with the lyrics you'll see guys wrote "stories" about oppression and human nature. In the interview for the Flipside #36 they stance they're not exclusively pursuing political issues, but politics are automatically implicated when you write society-conscious music. All 9 songs are total fierce, but especially my favorite "In The Red". Download the 7'' and feel pure California hardcore.

"No Way Records" offer us great bands. I already posted two of them - Government Warning and Verbal Abuse. Among them is also Acid Reflux. Not the disease, the hardcore punk band hailing from Albany,NY. These four guys treat us with 2 EP's, "ST" EP from 2007. and "Secret Power" from 2008. Both EP's end in a matter of minutes leaving you wanting to play it at least twice. Band is obviously under the '80s styled hardcore influence but in a good way. I would not called them one of my fav bands but guys definitely have the spark. Don't hesitate - try it.

I already got a recommendation to post this band. I always delayed it but now it's time cause i've been listening to them this week. Non-stop blasts of adrenaline and raw power, that's exactly what Battalion Of Saints give you. Formed at the start of the '80s in San Diego, these guys spin punk-heads with "Fighting Boys EP" in 1982. Like one guy said in some review this release is simply fun. My top track is definitely last one "I'm Gonna Make You Scream". Next year on "Mystic Records" followed more raw and tight version of Brats - "Second Coming EP". All three tracks are pure awesomeness and farly more brutal then the "Second Coming LP" versions came out next year on "Nutron Records". However it's known that "Second Coming LP" is pure classic with which guys leaved deep impression on future punk-rock scene.

After a lot of disagreement band split up in 1985. In their honor "Mystic Records" released their best of album "Rock In Peace" in 1988. I'm not sure when original members died, but only remaining one George Anthony reformed the band in 1995 with Terry Bones (of Broken Bones, Discharge, UK Subs) and they put up two releases on "Taang! Records" by name Battalion Of Saints A.D. "Cuts LP" in 1996 and "Muscle Of Love EP" in 1997. Canadians, Chris Colohan's (ex-Cursed) new band "Burning Love" recorded an awesome cover of "I don't like you" from "Cuts LP". If you interested you can download it from fellow "blogerians" Teenage Lobotomy. "Taang Records" also released "Death R Us" containing all previous tracks (except 2nd coming 7'').

Second reformation appeared in 2002. In 2006. their "Second Coming LP" was reissued by "King Tet Productions". You can see on their Taang "profile" bands still playing. Hm,I wonder how they sound live.

I'm staying home this week, just not in the mood for classes and people there. So, i'll probably will have more time for posting new stuff. Yesterday I downloaded Dinosaur Jr. discography.So far they're good. Love the "Chunks" cover by "Last Rights" they did.(that's the reason I download them.) However they aren't the topic in this post today. There's probably people who don't know that two of Dinosaur Jr. members had hardcore punk band in the early '80s. And of course for those who knew this is just something to remind them. So, with Lou Barlow on guitar, J Mascis on drums, Scott Helland on bass guitar and Charlie Nakajima on vocals, these guys formed Deep Wound in 1982,Westfield, Massachusetts . The band recorded ST 7'' demo on "Radiobeat" in 1983. Personally my favorite release. Same year two tracks "Time To Stand" and "You're False" were put on "Bands That Could Be God" compilation. There's probably more bootlegs than official releases. Among bootlegs there are split EP with Siege and rough demo "American Style". "Lost & Found Records" released ST album that includes entire "Radiobeat 7'' and part of demo. These guys are short,fast and loud. And if you like bands like Siege and Larm you'll probably get to like'em! Enjoy!

Have you ever heard Canada jokes like "Canada is USA's largest national park and tourist attraction." and "Yes, Canada has an army, and no Canada doesn't know about it" Funny and mean.:)

But to put aside Canada jokes it's a fact that this country has some awesome hardcore bands. Today on tapestry is Career Suicide. Coming from Canadian largest city Toronto, 4 guys form the band in 2001 and they're still kicking. Band is already on their 11th release and i'm offering you today the most of it. Pummeling listeners with breakneck speed and straightforward aggression their records are tribute to 80s hardcore with punk and garage energy that they are known for. "Attempted Suicide" from 2006 is a fuckin' classic and the newest EP "Cherry Beach" has a title song that you'll think where the hell I was before. So if you into hardcore punk with tinge of rock'n'roll this band's gonna be perfect for you (even though their Canadians, haha just joking.)

Love nihilism, brutality, keenness ? If you into songs that you can really relate to I think this is the band perfect for that job. This Detroit guys were considered one of the pioneers of hardcore punk. Dragging their influences from Detroit's "The Stooges", English Oi scene,Minor Threat,Necros and Black Flag. In download section i'm providing you three recordings. First is the self titled EP featuring tracks with themes like hate and frustration of being alienated and threatened by society.

Read the lyrics and see it for yourself. You could say that they're eternal cause their speaking about things they came across 20 years ago and with which we deal today. With second recording they just proven that even though it's more slick, they stayed raw, "Tied Down" LP is released in 1983 also by "Touch And Go Records". The last recording is a compilation album "Total Recall", some of them label it as essential, containing everything they released + demo and live tracks. The band split up in 1983. Brannon assembly new line-up and played shows during the 1984 featured some new songs(you can find them on "Total Recall".)

Reunion appeared in 2006. Interesting fact is that they played the wedding of Anal Cunt founder Seth Putnam. It must be some wedding.:)

Just found their new album.So i thought it's fresh stuff let's introduce this guys.Coming from Southern California, Dangers provide us angry,hateful and uncompromising songs,hitting you straight to the head and definitely not leaving you indifferent. I would castrate a professor when he doesn't show up on exam. That's what one gawk did it last week. And today without noticing us earlier on his web page he said to one person we've got an exam today in 10 AM. I found out a half hour earlier. Even the space ship wouldn't help me to get on time. I'm really pissed but heck with him. Arrgh.

I'm lighting cigarette now to calm my nerves and it's probably not good example for the following band. In this post we are getting back to Boston story again. Lead part goes to SS Decontrol (Society System Decontrol.)

Formed by guitarist Al Barile who was probably most creditable for booking shows,song writings and making all things work. Other "players" were insane vocalist David Spring aka Springa, drummer Chris Foley and bassist Jamie Sciarappa. Started in 1981. the band quickly gain notoriety. With visible Minor Threat and Discharge influences they were distinguished with strict DIY straight edge ethics, intense performances and provocative lyrics.

Guys had their independent record label XClaim where they put both records I'm giving you today. In 1982 they realeased 12'' "The Kids Will Have Their Say" as a split release with Dischord. That helped them to promote XClaim. Definitely a smart move. The album was pressed in 1,000 copies and never re-pressed which makes it quite a collector's item.

One year later it was time for "Get It Away" 12'' an epic record with my favorite title track. Guys end it with cover "No Reply" from Buzzcocks. Great job, indeed.

Somewhere along the line the band added second guitarist and "evolved" away from their original hardcore sound. With two albums they've gone in more heavy metal way.I never listened that and I think I never will cause "covers of wanky 70's rock songs" doesnt "smell" good to me. Forget about that and download their first two awesome recordings.

Searching for some merchandise on Crucial Attack site I encountered on Room 13. It intrigued me cause the band is obviously named after Black Flag's "Room 13". On their myspace they state Black Flag - The Stooges - 86 Mentality as their influences. Not bad, not bad at all. This 5 pieace "puzzle" band comes from Netherlands. As relatively new band they describe themselves like: "Obnoxious,offensive, in your face, but this time having the last laugh, Room 13 will crack your head with their debut album User/Abuser. With a smooth live reputation of getting pissed at each other during shows and getting banned from pubs, this young, nihilistic hardcore - punks are here to spill their guts." If you're into the same or similiar stuff you'll probably like them. So enter the Room 13!

To cease this 80s hardcore being going on it's time to present some band who actually is influenced by the most bands in previous posts. For this band i'm happy to say I experienced them live. It was May of current year, it's important to say it was an election time and one political party enabled in a local cafe free beer for everyone in unlimited quantity. Yeah,it was a dream and perfect warm up for the Brat Pack. In a couple of words i would say: "They were totally fuckintastic!"

People would say they come from sunny side of California, but it's like completely the opposite. Their motherland is Netherlands - a country of tulips, dutch wooden clogs, windmills and Van Gogh. As you can read in their biography on official site their influences vary from melodic sounds of NOFX with a harder edge from hardcore bands like RKL, Stalag 13 and also Minor Threat and Urban Waste. I would say they definitely pick the most from Nardcore scene.

Their discography consist of 7'' "Demo" (2006) that features first track that took my intention - "Cleanse The Bacteria". When I hooked on them I realized that every track has it's thing going on and represents today's in my opininon top snotty hardcore punk. 2008. they felt ready for LP and that's what they've given to us. "Hate The Neighbours" contains 13 raging songs clocking in around a minute. I remember when friends and me heard "Shadows" live we were in cathartic mood.(probably cause we've been drunk as hell.haha)

Give these guys a chance and try some dutch hardcore.

Poison Idea

Looks like i'm in posting mood today cause it's time for one more. Yey! It's been a long time since i've listened Portland's madness Poison Idea and I forgot how damn good they are. Bad thing about it is I've forgot to bring ear-plugs home and my mom is screaming "What's that noooise?" Haha. Can't blame her cause when she was my age she was all into '80s pop-stars. Yuk.

So get back to the band. Poison's Idea first recording (self released) from 1982. features the parody of the album GI by The Germs. Despite the cover, band were Germs fans and along with Black Flag at the time influence on Poison Idea. Demo "Darby Crash Rides Again" originally released in 1982 was reissued by "American Leather Records" in 1989. The recording is featuring for me one of the best tracks "All Right" (I think the reason is my infatuation with drums) and "Bounce Rubble" whom never been recorded again.

In 1983 it followed their total classic "Pick Your King" EP. Absolutely love the raw and cruel lyrics on that record. Tracks like "In My Headache", "Pure Hate", "Self Abuse" will spin your mind. On the third record "Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes" i'm very jealous, because of the cover of course. The cover features Pig Champion's vinyl collection. :drooling: Other than that, although band started putting some subtle rock elements they still remained the old style and visibly lyrically grown. In the download section there's also two recordings I picked out - "Kings Of Punk" LP from 1986 and "Feel The Darkness" from 1990. Get busy and start downloading cause these guys are not in vain called "Kings of Punk"!

Finnaly a weekend without studying. It's raining outside and today i'm all into some rawness and decay. Who'd better than Die Kreuzen. Started in 1981. they represented Milwaukee hardcore forces, and probably were at the top of it. Die Kreuzen in German means "the crosses" and the band took it from the German Bible. Raging Dan Kubinski was on vocals,Erik Tunison on drums,Keith Brammer on bass guitar and Herman Egeness on guitar. Today i'm going to present you their three earliest recordings. On their "Demo tape" from 1982 they showed us basic hardcore formula but twisted and sick. The second piece,personaly my favorite is "Cow And Beer" EP recorded in 1982. In an interview from "Touch & Go" #21 Herman reveals what was the inspiration for the title "Cow And Beer" and he said: "Cause everyone stereotyped Wisconsin or the Midwest in general as being nothing but cows and beer." Manic fast hardcore with derranged vocals follows through their great debut album "Die Kreuzen" in 1984. LP consist of all tracks from the later EP but rearranged and with a new level of temper. Other tracks that I would personaly highlight are suicidal "All White" and "Mannequin". Here you can find more thoroughly reviews of all the songs from that LP. Browsing through my folders i encounter on Stalag 13. With Rich Kids On LSD, Agression, Ill Repute and Dr.Know they are one of my favorites who were (still are) part of hardcore punk movement called Nardcore situated in Oxnard area, Southern California, emerged in early '80s.

Stalag 13 were crazy skateboard teenagers who were playing for pure enjoyment. Listening their stuff it's obvious bands like Minor Threat,SSDecontrol, Black Flag,Necros or Jerry's Kids were highly influental. They even said it in interview for Ink Disease #6 in 1984. Other than that, in the interview they "cruise" us through the meaning of songs from their killer record "In Control" (1984). You can also see they were (are?) jokers who said Jimi Hendrix is in their band and their answer on question "What they want to do? " were "We want to be a judo band,eat twinkies, lose our minds and kill fags." Haha.

Try "In Control" cause it really is a record you can't get enough.

Verbal Abuse is a form of abusive behaviour involving the use of language. In this case we're talking about a hardcore punk band. Under the helm of Nicki Sicki the band rose in Houston,Texas in 1981. The same year the band relocated in San Francisco where they signed for "Fowl Records" and recorded their first LP "Just Another American Band". For me, with no doubt their best record, full of trashy hardcore songs with obvious proto-punk band influences like Dead Boys or MC5. How the years gone by, as band members changed so did their music style. They brought us a crossover trash with second LP "Rocks Your Liver" in 1986. Not my cup of tea, but still you can find some hardcore remains and maybe you'll like it. The last album from 1995 "Red, White and Violent" is the same story.

I'm just listening "I Hate You" track from the first LP. Read the part of their insane lyrics.

Back in the '74 there was a debate were a Ramones first punk rock band or the english Sex Pistols. The same debate was whether the first hardcore punk band was Middle Class or Black Flag and Bad Brains. In my opinion does it really matters? Each one made an important influence and was definently unique at the time.

Middle Class were OC teenagers - Mike, Jeff, Bruce Atta, Mike Patton and Bruce Simon.

On their first EP "Out Of Vogue" recorded in 1978 they showed us blistering, shouted and arty hardcore punk. It featured title track that soon became an anthem and which actually reflected how they really were - out of vouge. Simple OC guys with jeans and T-shirts and without tattoos or safety pins. Uniqueness I tell yea'.

How they grew, their music style changed. Listening to Gang Of Four, Joy Division and similiar post-punk bands that emerge at the beginning of the 80s they unintentionally "took over that style". Yes the "Scavenged Luxury" EP from 1980 still remained the old style, but with indication on more driving rythm and heavier on the bass. The last one LP "Homeland" was plainly more mellow with somber vocals. That's not so strange cause the band definently matured.

Who read last post knows this one and that are connected. Although maybe a strange connection, but the one that made one of the best hardcore split album ever. As you see now it's time for the other side - Faith side. Unfortunetly very underrated band that definently shouldn't be, Faith were one of the most pissed of DC hardcore bands with the huge influence on the future one's.

On the split Mackaye showed his spiteful vocal combining it with songs that had darkness into. Remaining the venemous vocal but putting it into more melodic sounds Faith recorded a very powerful EP "Subject To Change" in 1983.

Raw, angry and chaotic are the best words that can describe a DC band called Void. One of the first who fused hardcore with metal they were known for it's violent shows where each member was playing his own parts as fast as humanly possible. Cacophony? Yes, but a hell good one.

Eye 95 realesed their EP Condensed Flesh in 1981, starting with one of my favorites "Organized Sports" "Condensed Flash" in the middle and theatrical finish with "Go South".

In 1982 on wings of Dischord Records they realesed split album with Faith full of blasting hardcore anthems. In download section there are also their demo "Hit and Run" and last 1984 never released record "Potion For Bad Dreams".

Coming back from college I was listening "I don't belong" and it come to me it's the perfect description of my college and me - we just don't go well together haha. So I think you already figure that today is Jerrys Kids day,hm or better say night.

Along with The Fu's from the last post they consist This is Boston,not L.A. compilation. That was they're first appearance. 1983' was a golden year cause it was the year they put out their masterpiece "Is this my world" with frantic and crashing tracks like "I don't belong" "Vietnam sindrom" and "Tear it up" One of my favorites that's diffrent then the others is "Raise the curtain" distinguished with slow,dark hardcore jams and perfect lyrics. Definently a remarkable LP.

Early Boston hardcore never let the people down, so i believe it wouldn't let down you.:)

If you haven't heard of "This Is Boston,not L.A." compilation you can jump off the cliff right away.Just kidding of course,the fact is that record is considered the definitive album of Boston hardcore scene.Came out in 1982 consisting of 36 tracks,7 bands among which is The Fu's. Definently in my top 5 Boston hardcore bands. From "Kill For Christ", "My America" to last one "Do We Really Want To Hurt You" Fu's gave us often with contradictory lyrics, but pissed off music."My America" LP was probably the best record and most controversial 'cause of the album art , but I think everybody knows that their semi-serious nationalistic stand was blown out of proportion.

If you're hardcore fanatic this band should definently be in your music library, so get goin'!

N.O.T.A. are band from Tulsa,Oklahoma playing tight,fast and at the same time crunchy hardcore punk. Record that really grab me was "Moscow EP" with tracks like "Takin' Away Your Rights" and "Moscow".What the hell and "Toy Soldiers EP" really grab me,they grab me. In 1985 they recorded an kick ass self titled LP with 19 raging tracks that represents them in full light.Try them 'cause you definently won't be sorry!

I think we all know that dutch harcore punk it's one of the best. Here's one of relatively newer Amsterdam band - Sick Mormons. Definently promising. Snotty vocals recalls mix of Adolescents, Agent Orange and Minor Threat. Guys recorded self titled EP one year ago. Soon there gonna be a new 5 tracks set.Can't wait for it!

The main reason I love Flipper is because of their intense blend of noise,punk and drone music. Slowing down the punk rock? In Flipper case I accept. They're probably best known for their song "Ha Ha Ha" but for me there's a lot more memorable tracks. My top pieces that i'm going to offer you today are definently the first one "Generic" and kick ass one album "Gone Fishin'". Name of the band was the idea of early member Ricky Williams who named all of his pets after the same name - Flipper.

It's been long time since i've post something. Concerts, drinking dechatlons, college..you know how that shit goes. To cut the story short let's go to the today's band -

Flag Of Democracy.Representatives of the first wave of hardcore punk. To be honest i'm not aware of their all discography especially newer ones. Maybe that stuff is good or even great but i haven't given them chance yet.

To me it's all about their first masterpiece "Shatter Your Day" along with an epic EP "Love Songs". You know the saying that "you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover" or atp "you shouldn't judge an album by it's cover" but who'd say that cover of "Shatter Your Day" album that looks like a baby picture book could have behind that kind of 80s dirty hardcore songs. If you into crust slamming power your into this band. I'm mad at myself that i haven't heard them sooner but i'm making up for that.

Victims started in 1997 and never planned on doing anything else then playing the percise and to the point hardcore. After touring Europe and USA,recording 4 albums, split album with From Ashes Rise,touring with Another Breath they are now powetrio ready for God knows what.Sweden must be proud.
